Terms of service
Last updated 6 August 2026
These terms cover use of CodeScreen by employers. If you are a candidate taking an assessment, the privacy policy is the page that concerns you — you are not a party to these terms.
What the product does
CodeScreen is an applicant tracking system with coding assessments built in. Employers create assessments, send them to candidates, receive an automatic score, and move candidates through hiring stages.
Your responsibilities as an employer
- You are the data controller for your candidates. You decide what to collect, who on your team can see it, and how long it is kept. CodeScreen processes it on your instructions.
- Hiring decisions are yours. Assessment scores and any AI-generated summary are inputs to a decision a person makes. The product does not decline, filter or rank candidates on your behalf.
- Access is yours to manage. Roles determine who can see candidate records, diversity reporting and billing. Granting someone access is your decision and is recorded.
Candidate code
Code a candidate submits is executed in an isolated service in order to score it. It is retained as part of their submission so you can review it.
Needs legal reviewWho owns candidate-submitted code, and what an employer may do with it after a hiring decision, is a real question with a real answer and it is not written here yet.
Acceptable use
Needs legal reviewProhibited uses, suspension and termination rights are outstanding.
Availability and support
Needs legal reviewUptime commitments, planned maintenance and support response times are outstanding. CodeScreen has no customers yet, so stating an SLA here would be inventing one.
Fees, liability, warranties and governing law
Needs legal reviewEvery clause in this section is a commercial commitment rather than a description of the software, and none of it should be drafted by anyone who is not a lawyer. Left deliberately empty.
